Zoo Camp Junior Counselor

Ages 14-17, Program cost: $40

Would you like to be a small group leader of children’s activities? Are you interested in wildlife? If so, apply to volunteer in our Zoo Camp Junior Counselor program. Spend a fun and rewarding summer helping kids to understand and appreciate the natural world. You will help campers ages 3-11 with a variety of games, crafts, activities and tours.

• Zoo Camp Junior Counselors accept responsibility and think ahead
• A valuable experience to include on your college or job application
• A good community service project
• An experience that will be fun and challenging
• Be available to volunteer Monday-Friday,
8:30am-4:30pm during at least 3 weeks of summer camp

Zoo Camp Jr. Counselor Application

Module Docent Program

Ages 18 and older
We are now looking for volunteers to interact with zoo guests in a variety of areas in the Zoo. Module trainings will be offered in the following areas: African Savanna, Ocean, Rainforest/Wetlands and Desert/Valley Farm. As a module docent you will share animal information though hands-on activities. Each module consists of 12 hours of training and a training cost of $25. Application is required.

Special Events

Ages 14 and older
The Zoo has several fun-filled special events throughout the year! Special Events would not be possible without the help and support from volunteers. Volunteer assistance is needed for Frogs and Fairytales, Breakfast with the Animals, Dreamnight, Zoobilation, Ice Cream Zoofari and Zoo Boo! It’s a great opportunity to gather a group together and volunteer for one of our exciting and unique events.

Zookeeper Assistant

Ages 18 and older
If you are interested in helping out with animals in a variety of ways, then this could be a great opportunity for you! It’s a great learning experience and allows the opportunity to interact with zookeepers. Gain knowledge on the husbandry of our animals. Application and a negative TB test are required.
