Summer Zoo Camp

Zoo Camp fosters an appreciation and understanding of wildlife and nature through animal interactions and observations, games, arts and crafts, and other exciting activities.

Summer Zoo Camp

Enjoy a week of fun at the Zoo with plenty of outdoor activities, arts and crafts, biofacts, games, and a range of amazing nature topics led by our Educators. Campers will visit favorite spots and animals at the Zoo and enjoy time with friends in half-day or full-day formats. All camps include Zoo adventures, art projects, and visits from Animal Ambassadors.

Zoo Camp Accommodations

2022 Zoo Camp Scholarship

Fresno Chaffee Zoo is pleased to offer Zoo Camp Scholarships for 2022 to support the financial needs of families that may need help towards camp tuition. Scholarship funds are limited and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

Availability of funds comes from donations to the Fresno Chaffee Zoo Camp Scholarship Fund and the Molly Steinsapir Scholarship Fund. Read more about our donation opportunities on our Support page.

If applying for more than one child, please complete multiple forms. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Applications will be due by Friday, May 27, 2022. You will be contacted by a Fresno Chaffee Zoo Education Department representative by Wednesday, June 1, 2022.

Cub Camp

Half Day:

  • 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. for campers age 3-5.
  • All campers must be 3-years-old before the first day of camp, no exceptions.
  • Camp will take place outdoors and indoors.
  • Campers are required to bring a refillable water bottle and a snack daily.

Price:

  • Members: $160
  • Non-Members: $170

Adventure Camp

Full Day:

  • 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. for campers entering grades 1-6 in fall 2022. Campers will be grouped by age.
  • Camp will take place outdoors and indoors.
  • Campers are required to bring a refillable water bottle, two snacks, and a lunch daily.

Price:

  • Members: $250 (For July 5-8 Camp Session: $200)
  • Non-Members: $275 (For July 5-8 Camp Session: $220)

Half Day:

  • 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. for campers entering grades K-4 in fall 2022. Campers will be grouped by age.
  • Note: Half Day Camp is offered the weeks of June 13, 20, and 27 only. 
  • Half Day Camp will take place exclusively outdoors.
  • Campers are required to bring a refillable water bottle and a snack daily.
  • We suggest campers bring a beach towel for outdoor seating.

Price:

  • Members: $160
  • Non-Members: $170

Adventure and Cub Camp Topics and Dates:

My Home Biome: June 13-17, July 5-8*, July 25-29
Grasslands and oceans and deserts, oh my! Check out the many Zoo habitats animals call home, and how they relate to your own biome. 
*No camp on July 4.

Dino-Mite: June 20-24, July 11-15, August 1-5
Dig up the past and uncover the secrets of dinosaurs, fossils, and prehistoric creatures...as well as their modern-day relatives at the Zoo! 

Stay Cool at the Zoo: June 27-July 1, July 18-22, August 8-12
Campers can cruise through the Zoo to see how animals chill out and protect themselves even on the hottest days. 

Young Naturalist Camp
